Karlie's Quilt

Finished the quilt to welcome my newest great niece to the family and she's not even a month old yet, well at least not until tomorrow! The pattern is "All Wrapped Up" by Artichoke Collection.
From the leftovers, a dolly quilt for big sister Kaylee.

Quilt Along/Step 2 - Squeezing in barely under the wire

Edited Monday, March 2nd:

Done!!!!!
Here is my seriously sorry excuse for Step #2 of Judy's Bears in the Farmhouse project. They are all pinned and ready to sew and I did manage to sew a few last week. I plan to sew the rest tonight and hopefully be caught up by the tomorrows deadline.

In my defense, life has been kind of crazy around here. First off there was a road trip with Debbie & Deb to visit Sylvia. It was a good day with good friends, lunch out and of course stops at Sylvia's local quilt stores.

The largest consumer of my time has been preparing for new flooring. Nothing like that to get you motivated. I am now not only moved out of half of my house but also have painted every room that will receive the new flooring. It's actually quite liberating to paint without the worry of messing up the floor. (See that door down the hall on the right? That would be my poor neglected sewing room)

Now it's off to sew the HST together!

Quilt Along with Judy

This is probably as good a time as any to actually start using this space rather than fretting about it. Is there any better motivation than Judy's Bears in the Farmhouse Quilt Along project? Here is my fabric selection for Step #1. My plate and schedule are pretty full right now so I'm counting on Judy's deadlines to keep me on track with this project.

In keeping with the 'shop your stash' motto, I'm a bit limited in my selection for a focus fabric since I tend to buy smaller cuts but am hopeful this will turn into a nice bright summery quilt.

Who knows, I may just find myself posting again before it's time for Step #2 !

Friday Night Fun

Tonight was spent at the LQS for their monthly tote bag club. It was a fun evening sharing a table with Pam the Purple Quilter and finishing a tote bag! I'll try to remember to get a picture of the bag tomorrow.

The gals at the LQS have set a goal of 100 Halloween Treat Bags to donate to Children's Hospital. If we make the bags, they will fill them. I turned in my contribution tonight.

My new goal before my next post is to figure out how to do links. Hopefully I'll figure it out and be back :)

Baby Steps . . .

I guess it's time I started to use this space rather than just think about it.

So far this year I've been working hard to finish projects with an occasional baby quilt thrown in the mix. Lots of nieces and nephews starting their families is keeping me on my toes. Hopefully I'll have some finishes before the Olympics are over with several quilts just needing the binding sewn down.

Now I just need to get in the habit of photographing my journey.

I think I'm looking forward to becoming more of a participant and less of a lurker.
